Here the 1/87 kit of our PBR - Pibber
The US Navy and US Army referred to a class of small, light patrol boats for use in shallow coastal waters and rivers as the Patrol Boat River for short PBR or onomatopoeic Pibber, which was used in particular in the Vietnam War from 1966 onwards.
The fuselage of the PBR was made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic, was very light and yet stable. In the stern there were 2 Detroit Diesel engines with 225 HP each that drove two water jet propulsion systems. Armed with a twin and a single MG caliber 12.7mm as well as M60 MG or 40mm grenade launchers, the boats were used on the rivers and in the Mekong Delta. A total of 140 pieces. built.
