The production of the fifth lot from April 1972 onwards brought the following changes: a thickening of the turret armour, a more efficient combustion air filter system, improved NBC filters, image intensifier night vision devices for the driver and commander, weapon stabilisation for the weapon sighting system, heat protection cover for the gun, connector track D 640A.
